Challenge

The Carbon Reduction Pilot Programme, launched in 2024,gives Welsh food & drink businesses the opportunity to develop carbon reduction plans, supporting the government’s ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Approach

As part of its work with the Sustainability Cluster, Levercliff partnered with businesses to create roadmaps for cutting carbon emissions. These plans set measurable targets, outline practical strategies, and track progress over time - helping companies reduce their environmental footprint in a structured way.

Outcome

Several Welsh food & drink businesses now have carbon reduction plans in place, with Levercliff continuing to support implementation. The programme has provided a manageable, actionable framework for tackling climate change, La Crème Patisserie describing it as “a practical way to reduce carbon emissions within the business.”
